Left the original charger in a hotel room, ordered this one because it was cheap. Works 100% as good as the original. Haven't used the car adapter yet.

This charger is indeed a relatively inexpensive alternative to the pricey OEM charger from Canon for the Elf model listed as the SD-780. Be sure to label it quickly, because it's quite possible it won't charge any other Canon camera batteries. I'm withholding a star simply because I've used it only once, and some generics have been known to bite the bullet in a hurry. It has a red light, which turns to green when the battery is ready to go.

Car charging option is very helpful option in addition to usual wall plug in mode. Works quickly and reliably.

This charger works great on my SD200. I wasn't 100% sure that it would work with this battery, but it does. Much cheaper than the OEM version.
